FSTC

The Friends of Simon’s Town Coastline was formed in1993 to promote the conservation of the Coastline.

The Aims of the Friends are, inter alia,

  • to promote the conservation of the Simon’s Town coastline

  • to celebrate its natural, cultural and historical character

  • to encourage knowledge of nature and the coastal environment

  • to promote public access to pathways, waterways and open spaces – unless sound scientific information indicates otherwise

    This is achieved through:

  • illustrated evening presentations at the Simon’s Town Museum
  • regular outdoor events
  • involvement in local community affairs
  • maintaining communication with individuals and institutions whose activities could be beneficial to the well-being of the Coastline
  • actively discouraging any unacceptable activity and any contravention of any law intended for the preservation and conservation of the Coastline

    Membership

    • Presently the Friends comprise a group of about 120 individuals; new members are most welcome to join – email judyhodson @ icon.co.za or phone 786-5931

    • Annual subs: R20 individuals, R35 couples/ families

    • Bank – ABSA Fish Hoek, a/c no. 9064358503 (please do not forget to state your name on the deposit slip) or cash at the AGM or any other meeting
